1. Who Is God? What is God like?

God is Father of spirits. God is like Jesus Christ.

2. Can we describe God?

God is Spirit. God is Good.  God is love. God is unique. God is Holy. God is perfect. God is life. God is immortal being. God is everlasting Majesty. God is creator of this Universe. God is great designer of this universe. God is Ruler of this Universe. God is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. God is Master. God is Lord of Lords. God is king of kings. God is Father of every spirit. God is Judge of this universe. God is righteous. God is wisdom. God is power. God is glory. God is pure. God is redeemer. God is controller. God is instructor. God is provider. God is healer. God is peace. God is faithful. God is wonderful. God is awesome. God is author of the faith. God is eternal intimate. God is true. God really exists.

We can go on describing God with our knowledge but the reality of God is much greater than human minds can understand or express. The personal presence of God in Jesus Christ and in “Bride the Church” is the central source of knowledge about God. Christ is known today through the personal witness of the Holy Spirit and Church is known today by the personal presence of Holy Spirit. God is the living God and is the only true God. Holiness belongs to God alone. Persons are made holy and perfect by being drawn into intimate relationship with God. Anything said about God must be based on His revelation of Himself to us. God controls the universe. God is never separated from any part of His creation. God is spirit and as Spirit God has perfect capability of present everywhere in the world at once. The loving, redeeming God seeks to set us free from sin. God has purpose and will. God is jealous God and takes himself seriously, and insists others to take Him seriously. God’s presence is Holy and in His presence we experience power, love, and righteousness. God’s glory has weight and influence. God has perfect awareness of what is happening in all His creation. God has power to accomplish His purposes and His will. God is the ultimate standard of right and wrong. God is consisting and unchanging. God defends the defenseless, helpless, victimized and oppressed. God opposes evil. God brings judgment on those who do evil. God redeems people from evil, making salvation possible.

God knows every detail about what is going on in His amazing and complex creation including our life. He is intimately involved in it and always present with us. There is no place we can go to escape the presence of God. This brings comfort to those who know that they need God’s help but discomfort to those who wish to hide from God. God’s presence should motivate us to live a life pleasing to Him. God’s purpose is to seek Him and find Him – for in Him we live and move and exist. God gives life after death. Some people do not believe life after death, they live only for pleasure, thinking that we have only one life and we have to live for this life and enjoy it. There are other people those who believe that God exists in every material object and sought to be peace with the world around them. These philosophies fell short of grasping the true nature of God. God is not just an impersonal force but a being deeply concerned about maintaining intimate relationships with the people He created. We can be thankful that the true God not only created us but also sustains us, loves us, and desires an intimate relationship with us. God loves us. But God’s love is often misunderstood. Many think that because He loves us, He will overlook our sins. But the fact is that, He is also just. We can be certain that our sins must be dealt with, either by accepting God’s gift of salvation through faith or by suffering God’s ultimate judgment. The choice is ours to make, and God desires that all would receive His forgiveness. The most crucial truth of Christian faith is that Jesus Christ, through Him God came to earth as a man, and shown Himself to the people. He lived in Jesus. Jesus is our king in God’s kingdom. Christ is our leader regarding the resurrection, for He defeated death and paved the way for us to one day rise from the dead. Jesus as both man and God, brought peace between His broken and sinful creation and our Holy God. God became our supreme example as Father who lived in Jesus. God, in human form in Jesus experienced hunger, He endured sorrow, He grew tired, He felt the sting of loneliness. He felt the pleasure of temptation. For these reasons, we can be assured that God understands what we are going through in life. God has made Jesus His heir and gave His throne to Jesus. God has given authority to Jesus over heavens, on earth and in seas. At the end time every knee will bow down and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

3. Can we see God?

We cannot see God, because He is Spirit. Spirits are visible to you when you are Holy. Only Godly will see God’s face.  What is the image of God? – The image of God is Spirit, without body. God is not limited to body, shape or boundaries. Spirit has no limitations and can be everywhere at once, can hear all, see all, and know all.

4. Can we hear God?

Yes, we can hear the voice of God. He speaks through people and angels and in dreams and in visions.

5. Where does God live?

God lives in Heaven, but He also lives in a man when he is Holy and lowly in spirit and invites God into his Heart. Spirit of God is unlimited and lives in everybody’s heart whoever invites Him. When Jesus returned to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to live in those of us who believe in Him.

6. Does God live in hand made things like IDOLS and TEMPLES?

No, God does not live in hand made things, for God is Spirit, he lives only in living beings. God has made man to put His spirit in him and to carry out His eternal purposes. The main purpose of creating man is to accomplish His eternal purposes through man. Temples and Churches are worship places of God.

7. What is a “Church’?

Souls of the elected people together make a church for God, but not the four walls of the building. We the People having the spirit of God in us make the church a Holy place.

8. What are the invisible qualities of God?

Love, Good word, Truth, Gentleness, Perfection, Humbleness, meekness, Peace, Just, Joy, Righteousness, Grace, Self Control, Holiness, Kindness, Faithfulness, Forgiveness, Patience, Compassion, …etc., If these things are in you it means God lives in you.

9. Why God is been called ‘God’?

The word God is derived from the word Good. Because, God is Good, He is been called God.

10. How does God live amongst us?

God lives amongst us in the form of HOLY SPIRIT.

11. What is a sin?

Disobedience to God’s word is sin, which gives us guilty conscience.

12. What is Salvation?

Deliverance from sin is called Salvation.

13. How can we deliver ourselves from sin?

Through the blood of Jesus we will be delivered from sin. During the olden days blood of bulls used to be offered to God for the sins of men as penalty or sacrifice. Now Jesus shed his blood to put a stop to the animal sacrifices and paid penalty for our sins once for all and he offered his blood for the sins of entire mankind. If you believe that the blood of Jesus was shed for your sins, you will be saved.

14. Is Jesus God?

Yes, Jesus is God. God the father of spirits said, “Whoever has been given the spirit of God and the WORD of God, they are called Gods and sons of Eternal God.” Ref- John: 10:34, Psalms: 82.

15. Is Jesus Son of God?

Yes, God was pleased to call Him His son, because He was born to a virgin with the Holy Spirit to fulfill His will. Jesus was not born of man but He was born of Spirit.

16. What was God’s will?

God’s will was, to save the world from wickedness, redeem everybody from the bondage of sin, put a stop for animal sacrifices, and give peace to the whole mankind through love and forgiveness shown on the cross. Despite God’s knowledge of our sin, He reached out to offer us forgiveness through the death of His Son on the cross. God wants to establish His kingdom of peace on earth. Jesus chose to take the punishment for our sins because He knew that there was no other way for us to approach a Holy God. The fact that Jesus knew what awaited Him at the cross makes His journey to earth even more amazing. Christ terrible death on the cross reveals the depth of our sin – it was a punishment that we deserved. It also demonstrates God’s overwhelming love for us, our sin drove in the nails, but His love for us kept Him on the cross. If there had been any other way for us to be forgiven, Jesus surely would have found it. But Jesus was willing to suffer this agonizing death for our salvation. Many people do not realize this fact.

17. Can you see Jesus now?

No, we cannot see Jesus now, because He is not in flesh anymore, but He is in the form of Spirit. Whoever experiences the power of Holy Spirit can feel the warmth of Jesus love.

TRINITY

WICKED should become GOOD.

GOOD should become RIGHTEOUS.

RIGHTEOUS should know the TRUTH and become HOLY.

HOLY should become a part of COMPLETE UNITY

PRAISE THE LORDWHEN YOU BECOME HOLY YOU WILL BECOME A PART OF -

TRINITY: YOU - JESUS - GOD.

Jesus say’s – (John-17: 23) “I in THEM and YOU in ME”. May they be brought to COMPLETE UNITY to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

Did you receive HOLY SPIRIT to become the part of TRINITY?

Jesus say’s - (John-14: 15-21) “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask Father, and he will give you another COUNSELLOR - THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH to be with you forever–The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives in you. I will not leave you as orphans. I will come to you. The world will not see me anymore but you will see me, because I live in you and you live in me.ON THAT DAY YOU WILL REALIZE THAT I AM IN MY FATHER AND YOU ARE IN ME AND I AM IN YOU” Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me and will be loved by my father and I too will love him and show my self to him.”

Apostle Paul say’s- (Gala-4:6) God sent His son, born of a woman to redeem us, so that we might receive full rights of sons. Because we are sons, God sent the spirit of his son into our hearts. Whoever have received the Spirit of Jesus, will be transformed into his likeness, Spirit of Jesus will never let you to keep away from your brother or neighbor, because He will equip us with everything good for doing his will. If you are not transformed into His likeness and say – “I have received Jesus”, that is a lie. You have accepted Jesus with your lips not with your heart. Jesus say’s “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born again of water and Spirit. John baptized you with water, in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit”.  Scriptures clearly say’s that some of the people were simply baptized with water but they did not receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 8th & 19th Chap). Simon even wanted to buy the gift of the Holy Spirit with money and was advised by Peter to pray for Holy Spirit, which cannot be bought with money. The perfect, righteous God demands nothing less than His perfect ness and Righteousness from every individual – an impossible demand for fallen human beings. But it is possible through Holy Spirit of God, which is a promised gift of God to every individual who receives with faith and obedience. The Holy Spirit creates a happy and free love to the heart without compulsion.

John the Apostle says- (1 John-5: 3) everyone who loves the FATHER loves his SON. Love for GOD is to obey his commands. And HIS commands are not burdensome.

Jesus say’s- (Mark-12: 30) “The most important command is – Love the Lord your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is – Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

John the Apostle say’s - (1 John-4: 20) “If any one says, ‘I LOVE GOD’ and hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. GOD HAS GIVEN US THIS COMMAND-Whoever loves GOD must also love his brother.” The words- neighbor and brother - represent the person except ‘you’, everybody in this world.

NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN GOD, BUT IF WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER, GOD LIVES IN US AND HIS LOVE IS MADE COMPLETE IN US.

SANCTIFY YOURSELVES AND SANCTIFY THE HOUSE OF THE LORD

“Sanctify now yourselves and sanctify the house of the Lord GOD.”

“Carry forth the filthiness out of the HOLY PLACE.”

GOD is asking us to sanctify ourselves in order to sanctify the church. We must sanctify ourselves, because as we all the people together make a church. To build this HOLY church, we need all good bricks but not the filthy ones. We are the bricks. You might say we have already cleansed our hearts but, God say’ s – You should become crystal clear and transparent like the sea, in front of our LORD GOD, who sits on the throne in heaven. Your attitude, behavior, intentions of your works and deeds, your words - reflect what you have in your heart. If they are not correct in the sight of GOD you are not clean. Clean your heart because it is a HOLY place where GOD lives. Take out whatever you have in your heart, which GOD doesn’t like. For on the God’s altar nothing filthy should be kept.

IF YOU REALLY HONOR HIM, HONOR HIM WITH A SANCTIFIED HEART IF YOU REALLY RESPECT HIM; GIVE THE RESPECT HE DESERVES, by reflecting Jesus from your heart. Jesus is perfect. Let us be also perfect in HIS sight. The four walls of the church do not make up a church but, the people who go to the church together form a church.

GOD IS ASKING- “A son honors his father and a servant his master.”  “If I’m a FATHER where is the honor due to me? If I’m a MASTER where is the respect due to me?” When we enter the building of the church, if we take the hearts filled with unforgiveness, hatred, greed, deceit, lies, boastful nature, fear, falsehood, arrogance and much more…. DO YOU THINK ….GOD LIKES IT? GOD SAY’S- “YOU HAVE DESPISED MY NAME”.  YOU MIGHT SAY- “How have we despised your name, O’ GOD? We love you so much that’s why we are here today and came to YOUR church to worship you. We came here to take part in the HOLY COMMUNION, because you have ordered us to do so.”

IF YOU DO NOT LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR (EXCEPT ‘YOU’, EVERYBODY IN THIS WORLD IS A NEIGHFOR) GOD will not accept your offering. GOD SAY’S- “You have offered a polluted offering. When you sacrifice crippled, diseased, and blind sacrifices is that not wrong?”. “I asked you to sacrifice your every thought, work and deed to wipe the tears of others, to love them and give them light in the darkness, to bring good and bad people in a right path which leads to HOLY PLACE. I asked you to leave the arrogance, which in my sight is equal to idolatry. I asked you not to be greedy for money but eager to serve, not to LORD over people but humble yourself, I sent MY son JESUS to show you example. He did not LORD over you humbled himself. I asked you to be submissive and clothe yourselves with humility towards one another because; I oppose the proud but give peace to the humble.”

We are all perfect in reading the Bible and remembering the Word of GOD. We are all well versed with everything that is written in the Bible. This is the time for us to put the Word of Jesus in practice. Without practical exam we are not going to pass the theory exam.

Let us all try to be real followers of the Christ, by real meaning. For man’s wisdom doesn’t take us to the heaven but the wisdom comes from HOLY SPIRIT takes us to the highest. When HOLY SPIRIT is in you, you can do all the works Jesus has done when He was in flesh. Do you have an assurance that the spirit lives in you is, spirit of Jesus?

No ear has heard-–No mind has conceived, what God prepared for those who love Him. But “Praise the Lord” God has revealed it to us by his spirit.

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST CLEANSES OUR SINS

How the blood of Christ cleanses our sins?

During the time of Old Testament people used to have regulations and laws for worshiping the God. God set these regulations, and Moses wrote those and gave to the people. To worship GOD they had a sanctuary. There were two places in a SANCTUARY.

1.       THE HOLY PLACE                                    2. THE MOST HOLY PLACE.

There was a curtain separating THE MOST HOLY PLACE from THE HOLY PLACE. The Priests used to enter regularly into the HOLY PLACE to carry on their ministry. But only the High Priest used to enter THE MOST HOLY PLACE, and that only once a year, with blood of sacrificed animals, which he sprinkles this blood as an offering for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. But the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. These were like external regulations. GOD’S will was to put an end to the sacrifices of animals and a son of man born HOLY should be sacrificed for the sins of whole mankind once for all to clear everybody’s conscience. THE MOST HOLY PLACE in the Sanctuary was only a copy of true one.

JESUS CHRIST the High Priest did not enter a man made sanctuary. The true one is HEAVEN. He entered Heaven itself, to appear for us in GOD’S presence. He entered the real MOST HOLY PLACE once for all by his own blood.  If the blood of goats and bulls sprinkled ceremonially in the copy of the heaven to clean and sanctify the people, so that they are outwardly clean, how much more then the blood of CHRIST cleanse our inner consciences from acts that lead to death. Now, the Priests need not offer blood of sacrifices for our sins every year. CHRIST offered his blood for our sins once for all. This was GOD’S will. God wanted Christ to shed his blood and die for our sins. When Jesus was in flesh, He said, “Here I’m, I’ve come to do your will O’ GOD.” GOD felt proud when Jesus said this and GOD said to him, “You are my Son; I have become your Father today.” By father’s will the body of the Jesus was torn and made an entry to a real Holy Place where GOD sits on his throne.  Whoever believes this, will also be made HOLY through the blood of Jesus Christ once for all. Therefore, we have confidence to enter the HEAVEN, by the blood of Jesus. This is a new and living way opened for us through the torn curtain that is his body, to enter the Holy Place. SO, LET US ALL DRAW NEAR TO GOD, with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled with the blood of Jesus, to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water (BAPTISM) OUR HEARTS ARE THE MOST HOLY PLACES WHERE GOD WANTS TO LIVE. It is only FAITH and BELIEF. This is the HOPE promised by GOD. GOD is faithful to his promises. Let us hold to this hope, for HE who promised is faithful. If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of GOD’S promise.  Anyone who rejected the first promise, the Law of Moses, died without mercy, If we reject this second promise of GOD, How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the SON OF GOD under foot?  Let us not treat the blood of promise as an unholy thing, because this blood sanctifies you from sins, let us not insult the spirit of GOD LIVING IN US for anyone who blasphemes against the HOLY SPIRIT will not be forgiven. It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living GOD.

FLESH CAN NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD, BUT THE SPIRIT

Body is perishable but Spirit is imperishable. Death of the body will be swallowed in victory when Spirit rises. Thanks be to GOD, HE gives us the victory through our LORD JESUS CHRIST. When JESUS rose again, HE swallowed the death and gave the same hope to us. GOD wants to give REST to our Spirits. Therefore – Let us stand firm in faith.

Let nothing move us from GOD

Let us give ourselves fully to the work of the LORD.

Let us make every effort to enter the REST.

Let us all submissive and humble.

Let us surrender ourselves to our faithful creator.

Let us continue to do GOOD and eliminate EVIL.

GOD wants to give us the Spirit of Jesus, the only HOLY SPIRIT in this world, no spirit is holier than the Spirit of Jesus. God opposes the proud but gives his spirit to the humble. Let us stand firm in faith that the LORD’S Spirit lives in us and cares for us. Let us cast all our anxiety on him. When we receive his Spirit, we will suffer a little while, until we are relieved from the worldly bondages. But the Spirit lives in us restore, and make us strong, firm and steadfast. This is true GRACE of GOD. Let us stand fast in it. When GOD is in us – We should be freed from the wickedness of this world and become HOLY through Righteousness. Righteous are, identified, by their faith, words, love, and fruits of Spirit. Whoever is matured with Spirit of Jesus can distinguish GOOD & EVIL. It is impossible for those –

Who have once been ENLIGHTENED

Who have tasted the HEAVENLY GIFT

Who have shared in the HOLY SPIRIT

Who have tasted the goodness of the WORD of GOD

Who have seen the POWER of GOD - fall away from GOD.

If they fall away, to be brought back to REPENTANCE, because to their loss they are crucifying the SON of GOD all over again and subject HIM to public disgrace. Once we receive the knowledge of the truth that the GOD is living in us, we should submit ourselves to the WILL OF SPIRIT in us. When we have done THE WILL OF GOD, we will receive what HE has promised. Let us all live by the faith that the God is living in us, we are God’s temple, and we shouldn’t keep his temple unholy. For of those who believe are saved. The GOD we believe in is FATHER OF SPIRITS. By living in us HE disciplines us for our good that we may share in his HOLINESS. This may be painful in the beginning, but later on it produces a harvest of Righteousness and Peace. Without HOLINESS no one will see the LORD. Love for money leads us to evil ways and keeps us away from GOD. Let us keep our lives free from the love of money and be content with what we have because, GOD has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. So we say with confidence “The LORD is my helper, I will not be afraid”. JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER.WE ARE REDEEMED NOT BY THE PERISHABLE BODY, BUT WITH THE BLOOD WITHOUT BLEMISH OR DEFECT AND WITH THE IMPERISHABLE SPIRIT OF CHRIST. We have purified ourselves by obeying the truth so that we have sincere love for our brothers and love one another deeply from the heart. For we have born again not of perishable body but of imperishable spirit.

BELIEVE IN GOD’S PROMISES

     1)  When we worry we believe more in our problems than in God's promises. So do not be anxious about tomorrow - God will take care of your

           tomorrow. Live one day at a time. Matt - 6 : 34

2)     Sometimes the little things in life that determine the big things. For I have learned in whatsoever state I am, there with to be content. Phil- 4:11

3)     In serving we receive much more than we could ever give away.  Honor shall uphold the humble in spirit. Isaiah- 57:15-16, 1Pet- 5:3-4

4)     If we try to please everyone we are bound to fail. What count is what God-thinks. For the Lord seeth not as the man seeth. For man looketh the outward appearance but the Lord looketh the heart. 1 Samuel- 16:76

5)     Give God your ambitions and dreams then trust him in the outcome.  He will not allow your foot to slip. For He who keeps you will not slumber. Psalms- 121: 3

6)     To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you.  For if you forgive men’s trespasses your heavenly father will also forgive you, but if you don’t forgive men’s trespasses, your father will not forgive your trespasses.  Matt- 6:14-15

7)     Wealth is measured not by the things we have, but by the things (Faith, Love, Righteousness, Lowly Spirit) we have for eternal life, which nobody can steal from us.  For a man’s life consist not in the abundance of the things which he posseth.  Luke- 12:15

8)     Faith is allowing your soul to go beyond what your eyes can see.  For we walk by faith not by sight.  2 Cor- 6:7

JESUS IS THE MEDIATOR BETWEEN THE GOD AND THE NEW COVENANT

GOD sent JESUS as a mediator between the GOD and the new covenant.

The Old Covenant - “Israelites will be freed from the bondage of Egypt and be given the land where the Milk and Honey flows (Canaan).”

The new Covenant - “People will be freed from the bondage of sin, wickedness, and the law of the Old Testament and be given Heaven (Peace & Joy).”

By calling the second one new, God made the first one obsolete, and what is obsolete and aging will be disappeared. Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant, for those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance through Him. He has died as a ransom to set the people free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Jesus has offered his unblemished blood to God, through the eternal spirit, to cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to eternal death, so that we may serve GOD.

If we concentrate on new one, God has promised us the Holy Spirit. In Luke 11:13, Jesus says “Though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more your FATHER (Father of Spirits) in heaven will give the HOLY SPIRIT to those who ask him.” If we are given HOLY SPIRIT, SPIRIT leads us to peace and joy. Whoever believes in Jesus could get the HOLY SPIRIT by asking God, not to sin again and again, which is in GOD’S sight crucifixion of the spirit of Jesus again and again. Once we receive the HOLY SPIRIT –“This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, say’s the LORD,

I will put my laws in their hearts

And I will write them on their minds

I will be their GOD

And they will be my people

No longer will a man teach his neighbor or a man his brother saying know the LORD

Because they will all know me

From the least of them to the greatest

For I will forgive their wickedness

And will remember their sins no more.”

Through this new covenant GOD promised us the SPIRIT of the JESUS, not of the letter, for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life (2co-3: 6). So do not try to search GOD in letters. Once you receive the spirit of Jesus, GOD lives in you, for Jesus has the spirit of God in him. If GOD lives in you, He himself guides your path. The man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. We have been crucified with Christ and no longer live, but Christ lives in us. The life we live in the body, we live by faith in the SON of GOD. We receive the SPIRIT not by observing the law, but by believing in Jesus. We are sons of God through faith in Jesus. Where the spirit of the LORD is, there is freedom, no bondage of wickedness or sin. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the LORDS GLORY, are being transformed into Jesus likeness.

The Glory we receive is ever - increasing, which comes from the LORD, who is SPIRIT lives in us.

WHO CANNOT ENTER INTO THE HEAVEN AND SUBJECT TO HELL?

The dogs cannot enter into the heaven (Rev 22:15). The dogs that practice –

MAJIC ARTS, FALSEHOOD, MURDERING, IDOLATRY, SEXUAL IMMORALITY, MOKING, REBELLING, MONEYLOVING, ANGER, MISLEADING BETRAYAL, HATRED, COWARDLYNESS and UNFAITHFULNESS

  1. Phili 3:2- "Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh”
  2. Psalms 22:16, 20- Dogs have surrounded me a band of evil men has encircled me iver my precious life from the power of the dogs”.
  3. Gala 5:15- “If you keep on biting and devouring each other watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
  4. Isaiah 57:3-13 says These dogs are- Adulterers, mockers, rebels, liars, money lovers, drunkards, and money lovers.
  5. Isaiah 56:10-11 Shepherds are blind, they all lack of knowledge, they all mute dogs. They cannot bark, they lie around and dream, they love to sleep; they are dogs with mighty appetites. They are shepherds who lack understanding, they all turn on their own way, and each seeks his own gain.
  6. MAGIC ARTS No one can enter into the gates of heaven that performs Magic arts (Reve21: 8, 22:15). God hates the sons of a sorceress (Isa57: 3). God destroys those who perform witchcrafts (Micah 5:12). To be blameless before God, God says- No one should Sacrifice his son or daughter in the fire. Practice divination. Practice sorcery. Engage in witchcrafts or cast spells. Interpret omens a  medium or Spiritist. Whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord and God will drive them out (Deu18: 10-14,2kings 21:6). These things provoke Gods anger. For God rebellion is like the sin of divination (1samuel 15:23)
  7. FALSEHOOD - Do not lie to each other since you have taken off your old self with its practices (Cola 3:9)
  8. God hates false testimony against your neighbor (Exo20: 16, Matt19: 18)
  9. God hates spreading false reports (Exo23: 1)
  10. God warns us to watch out for false prophets, because they come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly they are ferocious wolves (Matt7: 15)
  11. God does not want us to swear falsely by God’s name
  12. God asks us not to teach false doctrines (1Timo1: 3) (1Timo 6:20)
  13. God asks us to turn away from Godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge
  14. God warns against false teachers who bring the way of truth into dispute (2Pete2: 1-3)
  15. Devil does not hold truth, for there is no truth in him, for he is the liar and the father of liars (John8: 44)
  16. God asks us not to accuse people falsely (Luke3: 14)
  17. In Ephesians 4:25 it is written like this-
  18. “Each one of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor for we are all members of one body”
  19. In Psalms 119:163 it is written like this –
  20. “I hate and abhor falsehood”
  21. In Proverbs 30:8, Agur says- “Keep falsehood and lies far from me”. GOD DOESN’T LIKE FALSEHOOD.
  22. MURDERING - God commands us not to murder (Exo20: 13, Rom13:9)
  23. Jesus says anyone who is angry at his brother commits murder and subject to judgment and anyone
  24. Who says ‘you fool’ will be in danger of the fire of hell (matt 5:22)
  25. A person whoever kills someone accidentally may flee, so that a person accused of murder may not die before he stands trial before the assembly (Num 35:16)
  26. Any one who hates his brother is a murderer and no murderer has eternal life in God (1John3: 15)
  27. Law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels… for those who kill their fathers or mothers (1Timo1: 9)
  28. Rev 21:8 says that murders place will be in the hell.
  29. Rev 22:15 says murderers cannot enter into the city of heaven.
  30. IDOLATRY - In Gods sight the following come under idolatry
  31. Worshiping idols
  32. Turning the truth into a lie
  33. Arrogance
  34. Arguments
  35. Loving worldly things more than God
  36. Love for money.
  37. God says we shall not make idols in the form of anything and worship them (Ex20: 4)
  38. God does not like exchanging the truth of God for a lie (Rom1: 25)
  39. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger (Rom2: 8-9). One must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience (1Timo3: 9).
  40. God considers arrogance like the evil of idolatry (1Sam15: 23). So obey the word of the God. Do not be arrogant but be afraid (Rom11: 20). Live with harmony with one another (Rom12: 16). Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant not to put their hope in wealth, which is uncertain, but put their hope in God who richly provides us with everything (goodness, righteousness, faith, spirit of lowly, generous nature and willing to share) with which we can lay a foundation for coming generation, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life (1Timo6: 17-19).
  41. God’s people should not argue and quarrel. Warn them before God against quarreling about words is. It is no value and only ruins those who listen (2Timo2: 14). Lords servant must not quarrel (2Timo2:24), he must kind to everyone, able to teach not resentful; gently he should lead them to a knowledge of the truth.
  42. Acts of sinful nature are considered as idolatry. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things, which put to death, therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature should die. (Colo3: 5-6). Sinful nature leads to destruction (Gala5: 19-21).
  43. People are lovers of money rather than God, which is considered idolatry (2Timo3: 2). Putting trust in Gold and Wealth is sin and considered as unfaithful to God on High (Job31: 24-28).
  44. SEXUAL IMMORALITY - The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.  Because of the holiness God by his power raised the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and He will raise us also.  Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body?  For it said, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the HOLY SPIRIT, who is in you, whom you have received from GOD? You are not your own, you were brought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body (1Cori 6:13-20). Sexual immorality is improper for God’s Holy people (Eph 5:3)
  45. MOCKING - Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright (Pro 14:9). If you are a mocker, you alone will suffer (Pro 9:12). Drive out the mocker, and out goes strife; quarrels and insults are ended (Pro 22:10). JESUS WAS MOCKED – who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him (Mark 10:34). Jesus says- I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting. Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. I know I will not be put to shame. Let us face each other. Who is my accuser? They will all wear out like a garment. The moths will eat them up (Isa 50:6). God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows (Gala 6:7). Blessed are the men who do not sit in the seat of mockers.
  46. REBELLING - To obey is better than sacrifice and to heed is better than fat of rams. For rebellion is like the sin of divination (1Sam 15:23). Whoever will listen let him listen, and whoever will refuse let him refuse, for they are rebellious house… say’s the Lord (Eze 3:27).
  47. MONEY LOVING - No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other; you cannot serve both God and Money (Matt 6:24). We should not be lovers of money (Gala 3:3). Peoples will be lovers of money (2Timo 3:2). Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have (Heb 13:5).
  48. Not greedy for money but eager to serve (1Pete 5:2).
  49. ANGER - A harsh word stirs up anger (Pro 15:1). A fool gives full vent to his anger (Pro 29:11). Do not associate with one easily angered (Pro 22:24). An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot – tempered man commits many sins. Love is not easily angered (1Co 13:5)
  50. MISLEADING - Do not be misled. Bad company corrupts good character (1Cori 15:33).
  51. BETRAYAL - Do not betray another man’s confidence (Pro 25:9).
  52. HATRED - Love your enemies pray for those who persecute you (Matt 5:43). Hate what is evil, cling to what is good (Rom 12:9). Do good to those who hate you (Luke 6:27).
  53. COWARDLYNESS - The cowardly people place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur (Rev 21:8).
  54. UNFAITHFULNESS - The way of the unfaithful is hard (Pro13: 15). Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord and did not keep the word of the Lord, did not even consult a medium for guidance (1Chro 10:13).
  55. UNBELIEF – Some people never enter into the rest because of their unbelief (Heb 3:19)

FALSE GODS

Exodus 20:1-6,

God spoke all these words, saying

“I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under theearth.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them. For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me. And showing mercy unto thousands of them, that loves me, and keeps my commandments.

 John 17:1-3,

Jesus spoke these things saying,” Father, the hour has come. Glorify your son, so that your son also may glorify you just as you gave Him authority over all humanity, so that He will give eternal life to all of whom you have given Him.

And this is eternal life, that they may know you the only true God, and the one whom you have sent – Jesus Christ.

Why Israel and the Temple of Jerusalem faced disaster?

“But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this Temple I have consecrated for my name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all people. And though this temple is now so imposing, all who pass by will be appalled and say “Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?”

People will answer – “Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their fathers, who bought them out of Egypt and have embraced other gods, worshipping and serving them – that is why he bought all these disaster on them”.

Paganism or worship of Baal and other gods was brought into Israel through Canaanites. Isaiah uses Canaanites as a common noun meaning “Merchants” or “Traders”.

Canaan’s identity as merchants was limited to the area of Phoenicia. Phoenicia was particularly known for a special purple dye produced from crushed mollusks. The word Canaan may be related to the special colored dye.

Canaan was son of Ham, one of the three sons of Noah.

Genesis 10:15-20 clarifies the implications of this Hamitic descent in the sons of Canaan.

Sidon, Heth, the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgasites, the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, the Arvadites, the Zamarites and the Hamathites are called Canaanites with Egyptian sphere of influence.

Canaanite cities include – Jericho, Byblos, Ugarit, Jerusalem, Megiddo, and Shechem.

Canaanites and Israelites melded together, a phenomenon essentially completed by the end of David’s rule.

Canaanites portrayal of the deities and religious perspectives made Israelites to follow Baalism with which Yahweh the only true God was angry.

According to 1Chronicles 5:5, Baal was a descendant of Reuben, Jacob’s first born son, and father of Beerah. Baal was sent into exile by Tiglath Pileser, King of Assyria. The genealogical accounts of Saul’s family listed in 1Chrnicles 9:35-36 indicates that the fourth son of Jehiel was named Baal. In the Bible the name Baal appears 195 times where Canaanite deities were worshipped (in Numbers, Deutoronomy, Hosea, Judges, Chronicles and Joshua).

THE PANTHEON:

1)      El (god) Titular head – King of gods and creator or fertility god. He is depicted in the form of Bull and was at distance from the people. El’s wife was Athirat or Asherah or Asheroth.

2)      Athirat was a mother of deities given birth to 70 gods and goddesses.

3)      Baal was Master or Lord. Name Baal means to marry, or rule over, or husband. Cosmos was ruled by Baal. He wears conical hat with horns associated with bull imagery. With right hand Baal holds a club and with left hand Baal holds lightening bolt. He sits on the throne - symbolizes authority.

4)      Anat or Anath – Sister and consort of Baal Goddess of love, the perpetual virgin. She is also goddess of warfare whose exploits are cruel.

Baal gradually supplanted El. El’s authority is transferred to Baal. Thus Baal is often depicted with Asheroth rather than Anath.

Second more important gods are 1. Mot – god of sterility. Mot was clearly understood as a power capable of rendering important Baal’s regenerative powers. 2. Yam – Prince River or Judge River. Hebrew word for sea is Yam. Yam is God of sea. Chaos or sea is ruled by Yam. The fear of chaos overcoming cosmos was represented in Baal’s struggle with Yam. These are some of the more important members of the Pantheon. The sexual union of god and goddess assured the fertility of mankind. In the temple a male priest fulfilled the god role and female priests fulfilled the goddess role. The Israelites encountered this thought of pattern when they entered Canaan. It took many centuries for Israel in daily practice of popular religion to resist Canaanite practices. Hosea used a play on words to look to a day when Israel would no longer worship Baal (Hos 2: 16). He said Israel the Bride, would refer to Yahweh, her God and Husband, as “My Man” but not as “my lord” (Baal). Even though Baal was a common word for Lord or Husband, Israel could not use it, because it reminded them too easily of Baal, the Canaanite god.

MYTHOLOGY OF PAGANISM

Baal established a supreme power within the Pantheon, built the palace or temple which he merited by virtue of his victory over Yam, and in the third scenario struggled with, succumbed to, and ultimately escaped from the clutches of Mot.

El is portrayed as having been unashamedly afraid of Yam, this chaotic god of sea. El was so frightened that he hid beneath his throne, fearful himself to encounter Yam but encouraging anyone to come forward who would confront this agent of chaos. Eventually, following some negotiations having to do with his role if successful against Yam, Baal stepped formed and proceeded to engage Yam. Baal was successful, bringing Yam under control by dividing him and thus making helpful an otherwise destructive, chaotic force. By this act Baal demonstrated himself worthy of exaltation.

Next Baal was now worthy of his own palace or temple. Given the cyclic view of reality and the recurring danger posed by Yam, it is understandable that Baal did not want any windows in his palace and the master crafts man erected the structure. Baal opened completed palace to the entire pantheon for a type of sacred meal. During the meal, Baal opened one of the windows and bellowed out the window, surely understood as an indication of thunder’s origin, given Baal’s association as god of the storm. All should be well, but Baal had one more enemy to confront, Mot. According to the mythology, the two met in the battle. Baal was defeated, being consigned thereby to the nether world when Baal was separated from Anat, sterility reigned on earth. The wadis dried up, and Anat anxiously searched for Baal, one day she chanced upon Mot. She had with her a blade with which she cut Mot into many pieces, which pieces she then sifted, with the remains being scattered across the ground, probably an allusion to some type of grain festival. Regardless, this action by Anat enabled Baal to escape from his confinement. Rapidly thereafter, fertility returned. Thus the full cycle has been traversed, whether the intent is the annual cycle experienced in the world of nature, the seven year cycle. What is transparent is the cyclic nature of the highly sensual, sympathetic magic worship.

The Israelites were forced to contend with this mythology upon their entrance to Canaan. They faced a worship structure which had proved itself successful in the view of the Canaanites. Apparently, the Israelites had to offer in exchange a non-agarian wilderness god who had no record of success in agriculture. The Israelites setting into Canaan were not impervious to their surroundings. In the Ancient Near East people assumed that as a people migrated from one area to another they would take over the gods and religion of the new area in which they settled. At the least, they would incorporate the new religion into their own old religion structure. For the Israelites the most natural thing would have been to embrace Baalism, although perhaps not to the exclusion of Yahwism. A type of Yahwism – Baalism synthesis gradually established itself, particularly in the Northern Kingdom. During the period of Joshua and the Judges a cultural struggle was waged which had to do more with the conflict between Israelites and Canaanites cultural motifs than between Yahweh and Baal. In the book of Judges Judge, Deborah, is depicted as fighting directly against Canaanites. Another Judge could be called Jerabaal having a father with an altar to Baal. Without leadership Israel worshipped “Baal-berith” (Baal of the covenant) mixing Baalism with the Covenant of Yahweh. The Israelites began to worship this deity following the death of Gideon. The temple was located in Shechem. Saul assuredly did not struggle to eliminate Baalism, and he even named a son Eshbaal, Jonathan had a son Meribaal, David named a son Beeliada (Baal knows), Solomon was even more of a syncretistic. Solomon’s Temple was designed and built by Canaanite architects. In such an atmosphere lines of demarcation have been clearly drawn. Solomon’s politically motivated marriages brought many other gods and their worship into Jerusalem. The real God Yahweh became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice and forbidden Solomon to follow other gods. Solomon did not keep the God’s command (1 Kings 11: 9-11. Judah was the base for worship of Yahweh the only true God at the site of Jerusalem Temple. Judah was geographically isolated from the northern Canaanite area where Baalism was more regularly practiced. In Israel, Jerobam I erected rival shrines to the Jerusalem Temple at Dan and Bethel. These shrines, in the shape of bulls, are associated with Baalism. Regardless, the adherence to Jeroboam’s shrines was the mark of apostasy for Israel’s kings.

Ahab married Jezebel, a princess from Tyre. Jezebel brought the clearest infusion of Baalism into Israel and persecution of Yahweh’s prophets. Elijah encouraged a contest atop Mount Carmel to determine which deity could give life-giving rain or fire. It clarified that a person must worship only Yahweh the true God. It was not possible to worship both, for Yahweh demanded exclusive allegiance. The struggle Elijah initiated with this either Yahweh or Baal imperative, King Jehu carried forward politically. Hosea gave voice to the anti-Baalistic message. Hezekiah is remembered as a reforming king and Josiah was the reformer par excellence. Judah also had Isaiah against Baalism. Jermaiah also issued the strongest denunciation of Baalism.

The Baalistic Canaanites influenced Israel in many ways.

1.      Temple construction

2.      Sacrificial rituals

3.      the high places

4.      a rejection of any sexual motif as a worship instrument (Deu 23: 17-18)

5.      Yahweh’s splitting of the sea (Yam Suph) rather than a struggle with a mythological Yam (Exo 14:15)

Israel found the Canaanite religion to be offensive. Such as use of sex in worship. (Deu 20: 16-18).

The Israelites encountered a people with a proud history and a thriving religion. Historically speaking, that encounter could potentially have led to the elimination of Yahwism. It did not rather, a long historical process led to the eventual elimination of baalism and other elements of Canaanite religion.

Israel’s battle with Canaanite religion gave new dimensions and depth to Israel’s faith.

The biblical record affirms that Yahweh, the only Lord God of history, has used the reality of historical encounter as a means to bring “TRUTH” was revealed in Jesus. “And this is the eternal life that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou have sent”.
